DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile
The DoubleTree by Hilton Chicaco Magnificent Mile is a Doubletree Hotel franchise located near Chicago's "Magnificent Mile."
Location
The Doubletree Hotel Magnificent Mile is located on the corner of Ohio Street and Fairbanks in close proximity to the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Millennium Park and McCormick Place.[1]
History
The 294-foot 29-story hotel was built by Hillman, Vagniers & Associates in 1974. It was originally a 495-room Holiday Inn City Centre until the hotel was rebranded as a Doubletree hotel in 2008.
Purchase/Acquisition
The property was purchased by CCC Hotel Partners, LLC in February 2006, a joint venture between San Francisco based Chartres Lodging LLC and Dubai Investment Group.[2]
Renovations
More than $21 million was spent on property-wide renovations including: the lobby foyer, lobby bar, guest rooms and suites, bathrooms, public spaces, dining establishments, meeting space, and rooftop deck.[3] Guestrooms were decorated with charcoal, white and fuchsia color schemes. The renovations featured 17,000 square feet (1,600 m2) of redesigned meeting space, 500 guest rooms, and three dining establishments.
Franchise/Ownership/Management
The Doubletree Hotel Magnificent Mile Chicago is part of the brand of full-service hotels are resorts trademarked by Hilton Worldwide. It is independently owned by Chartres Lodging LLC and managed by Kokua Hospitality LLC. Kokua Hospitality is an affiliated property management group. Kokua Hospitality LLC has managed the Inn of Chicago since its opening in 2006.[4] Kokua Hospitality is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC. There are six hotels managed by Kokua Hospitality; Inn of Chicago, The Doubletree Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile, the Aloft Washington National Harbor, the Allerton Hotel, Chicago, Tremont Plaza Hotel and Grand Venue, Baltimore, MD and Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, HI.
Amenities
Amenities include the brand’s Sweet Dreams by Doubletree sleep experience; MP3 compatible, stereo clock radios; Wolfgang Puck gourmet in-room coffee service; Nuetrogena bath products; a work desk complete with wireless, high-speed internet access and ergonomic desk chairs. The hotel currently has three on-site dining establishments; MARKETHOUSE, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and H2O poolside bar and grill.[5]
