One of the main features of the Disk System is the ability to save data, allowing players to save information such as high scores and other achievements on their game disk. Disk Fax machines could be found in certain stores in Japan during the late 80s/early 90s. The Disk Fax machines read save data and send the scores to Nintendo for inclusion on a national scoreboard.
