Daniel Schmidt (born 14 May 1991 in Hamburg) is a German individual and synchronised trampolinist, representing his nation at international competitions.[1]
He took up the sport at age six. His father encouraged him to take up the sport because he thought he had talent for the sport. Both his father and grandfather were active in the sport as well. Schmidt won gold medals in the individual and team events at the 2010 European championships in Varna, Bulgaria. He competed at world championships, including at the 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Trampoline World Championships.[2] He suffered a foot injury in October 2015. He resumed training a few days before the 2015 German Championships.
Personal
His father Olaf Schmidt was a trampoline gymnast and won silver at the 1986 World Championships. His mother was also active in the sport. Next to trampolining he is a police officer.
