The Connecticut Mirror is a nonprofit media organization in Connecticut in the United States. It is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. The online-only newspaper focuses on public policy and political issues in the state. It is an outlet of the Connecticut News Project, which also publishes TrendCt and ViewpointsCt.

The Mirror has 10 full- and part-time staff members, including one in Washington D.C.[1]

History

The Connecticut Mirror was founded in 2009 by a small group of Connecticut residents with $1.8 million in startup funding.[2] After several state news organizations, including the Hartford Courant, suffered massive layoffs, those residents were "concerned about the decline in watchdog journalism."
