The Colonial Theatre in Bethlehem, New Hampshire is a historic movie theater built in 1915. It was designed in what has been called an art deco style[2] (although it predates that period) by Tampa, Florida architect Francis J. Kennard.[3]
The Colonial Theatre is located at 2050 Main Street and is one of the town's most famous landmarks. It was established in 1914 by Karl Abbott and opened to the public in 1915 with a showing of Cecil B. DeMille's Girls of the Golden West. The theatre included an electrically-lighted marquee.[4]
Currently the Colonial presents national touring artists, independent and world cinema, and quality family events May through October.
