Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science (CNU; Chinese: 嘉南藥理大學) is a private university in Rende District, Tainan, Taiwan.
Its mission is to prepare professionals in the fields of pharmacy, health and management.
Chen Wang founded the Chia Nan Junior College of Pharmacy in 1966.
Currently, there are 28 departments and graduate schools in six colleges: Pharmacy and Science, Human Ecology, Health and Information, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sustainable Environment, and Leisure and Recreation Management. The university has an enrollment of 16,835 students, and more than 500 full-time faculty members. In consecutive years, the university has won an excellent reputation from the evaluation of the Ministry of Education.
The university excels in the fields of pharmacy, cosmetics, food, health care, biotechnology, and environmental pollution prevention. Scholarship, counseling, housing, and international campus are specially tailored to the needs of international students.
History
CNU was originally established in 1966. In 1996, it was upgraded to Chia Nan College of Pharmacy and Science and in 2000 it was fully accredited to be a university named Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science.[1]
