The Brighton-based band was managed by Rob Swerdlow, Mark Nicholson and Dave Nicoll, who are also behind UK rock act The Kooks.
Cat the Dog supported rising Welsh act the Automatic and The Kooks. In November 2007 the band were involved in a near fatal car crash while travelling to their gig and had to escape from their van by breaking a window and climbing out. They split up shortly after in Dec 2007 after a tour with Zico Chain. Bassist Dan Logan joined local Brighton band The Kooks and replaced Max Rafferty after his departure in 2008.
In 2008, Cat the Dog drummer Andy Newton and Kooks guitarist and songwriter Max Rafferty formed the band The Third Man.
In 2009, Cat the Dog vocalist Christopher Melian joined the group The Hot Melts.[1]
