Buddleja davidii 'SMBDVL' (selling name = Merry Magic Violet) is an American cultivar raised by the Spring Meadow Nursery Inc. of Grand Haven, Michigan, and introduced to commerce in 2012. Patent has been applied for.
Description
Merry Magic Violet reaches a height and width of 2.5 metres (8.2 ft) by 2.5 metres (8.2 ft), and bears long, <0.6 metres (2.0 ft) terminal panicles of plum purple flowers. The shrub is reputedly to have a low seed set, rendering it less invasive than the species.
Cultivation
Merry Magic™ Violet is cultivated in the USA and Canada. Hardiness: USDA zones 5–9.
