Broadview Networks is an information technology and cloud services provider headquartered in Rye Brook, New York. Broadview offers unified communications services, which include cloud-based voice, computing, and networking services to businesses along with traditional voice, data and internet. Its key product, OfficeSuite, launched regionally in 2005 and nationwide in 2009.[1]
History
Broadview Networks was founded in 1996 as a regional telecommunications company, and has raised over $320 million in total venture capital funding since its founding in 1996. Shareholders included Baker Capital, MCG Capital Corp., New Enterprise Associates, ComVentures, WPG Enterprise Fund, Apollo Management and Trimaran Capital Partners.[2][3]
2007
Filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to raise approximately $287.5 million in an initial public offering.[2][3]
2010
Named provider of voice and data telecommunications services to the Wachovia Center, 76ers and Flyers;[4] the following September, Broadview Networks’ OfficeSuite surpassed 50,000 hosted VoIP stations in service.[5]
2011
Welcomed Telegration as a Master Agent[6] and surpassed 75,000 hosted VoIP stations in service.[7]
2012
Released OfficeSuite White Label.[8]
Completed the financial restructuring of its debt.[9]
On December 20, 2012 OfficeSuite surpassed the 100,000 station milestone.[10]
2013
In May 2013, Broadview Networks and YAI joined forces to support children and adults with disabilities for the 6th year by hosting the Central Park Challenge.[11][12]
Broadview extended its OfficeSuite mobile offering in September 2013 to smartphones and tablets.[13]
In October 2013, Cumberland County College joined number of educational institutions using OfficeSuite for communications.[14]
2014
Digital BackOffice and Broadview Networks partnered to bring cloud services to Connecticut businesses, schools and town halls in February 2014.[15]
Integrated the OfficeSuite platform with Salesforce in May.[16]
The Rubin Museum of Art, Risky Listing’s Picken Real Estate, Keller Williams Real Estate, and Massachusetts institutes of higher learning and government offices all upgraded to OfficeSuite in 2014.[17][18][19][20]
Released OfficeSuite HD Meeting in August 2014.[21]
2015
Welcomed TEL-COM Solutions as a partner to offer the OfficeSuite cloud services package to agents in the Pacific Northwest.[22]
Announced a purchasing agreement with GNYHA Ventures that made OfficeSuite available to members of the GNYHA healthcare community.[23]
May 2015, reached an all-time record for OfficeSuite Phone sales in a quarter and month.[24]
Acquisitions
Broadview has also acquired a number of businesses since its founding, including a portion of the business customer base of RCN Corporation, certain Net2000 Communications assets earlier acquired by Cavalier Telephone and the DSL business of IDT Corporation.[2][3]
In 2006, Broadview purchased ATX Communications, an integrated communications and managed services provider.[2][3]
In 2007, the company purchased InfoHighway Communications, a provider of hosted and managed communications solutions.[2][3]
In April 2013 Broadview Networks acquired the unified messaging assets of Common Voices, Inc.[3][25]
OfficeSuite
OfficeSuite, Broadview’s key product, is its IP business phone system. OfficeSuite functions over Broadview Network’s secure network. OfficeSuite HD Meeting, Broadview Network’s web conference platform, allows up to 100 people to meet in a virtual setting. HD Meeting is integrated with Google Calendar and Outlook.[21]
OfficeSuite includes mobile applications and HD conferencing, as well as support. It is marketed for unified communications.
Channels
Broadview uses channel partners for its sales. Channel partners can be value-added resellers (VARs), agents and service providers.[26] They play a role in the end-user or customer’s decision on whether to buy a product, as they are the advocates for specific technology options.[27] Agents and partners have the option of receiving Broadview support or remaining entirely independent.
