Brett Budgeon is an Australian sportsman and stage actor, best known for his leading roles in musical theatre and Cabaret performances. He also leads the Brett Budgeon Band and has headlined music festivals alongside some of Australia's leading popular music acts. He has performed at major venues from Sydney Town Hall, Sydney Olympic Park, ANZ Stadium Brisbane, Gold Coast Arts Centre, Aurora Stadium and the Theatre Royal Hobart. Brett and childhood friend Darryl Beaton performed alongside Jimmy Barnes, Deisel, Deni Hines, Kasey Chambers in the inaugural Breath of Life Music Festival.

Biography

From a very young age displaying both a great sporting prowess and a keen interest in music, Brett Budgeon has managed to achieve distinction in both fields. As an athlete he was a finalist in both The Burnie Gift and The Stawell Gift professional athletics carnivals. He broke the then Premier of Tasmania Ray Grooms’ 30-year-old Long Jump record in 1996. He also Placed second in the prestigious Burnie gift in 2006. In the field of music and theatre Brett has studied singing at three of Australias top music schools and performs regularly throughout Australia. In 2012 he performed the role of Jesus alongside Jon English in a box office breaking season of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Jesus Christ Superstar at Launceston's Princess Theatre. In 2013 he performed the role of The Phantom in the Tasmanian premier of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Phantom Of The Opera at the Theatre Royal, Hobart.
