Bow Street is a closed railway station in Bow Street, Ceredigion, on the Cambrian Line, that was opened in 1876 and operated by the Aberystwith and Welsh Coast Railway. The station was closed in 1965 as part of the Beeching Cuts though there are plans to re-open it.
Proposed re-opening
The Welsh Government commissioned a study into the re-opening of the station at a site further south from the original station which is currently occupied by a builders' merchants.[1] The new plans would involve facilities for a 110 capacity car park, bicycle storage and a bus & coach interchage.[2] If approved, work is expected to start on the station in January 2018 and to be finished by December 2018 at an estimated cost of about £5 million.[3]
