BitX is a Bitcoin company headquartered in Singapore with operations in Indonesia,[1] Kenya,[2] Malaysia,[3] Nigeria[4] and South Africa.[5][6][7] BitX facilitates bitcoin storage and transactions through their Bitcoin wallet services and operates exchanges between fiat money and bitcoin.[8]

History

BitX was founded in 2013, completed an SGD $1m (USD $824,000) seed funding round in 2014[9] and raised USD $4m in Series A funding, led by Naspers, in 2015.[10][11]

BitX and PayFast facilitated one of the first crypto-currency integrations into a payment processor in the world.[12]

Products

BitX offers a consumer Bitcoin wallet for Bitcoin transactions and storage. They offer exchange services (buying and selling Bitcoin) in 5 countries[13] and an API[14] for developers to build Bitcoin applications.
