Big Thinkers! First Grade

Big Thinkers! First Grade is the second game in the two-game educational computer series Big Thinkers!. The game is hosted by the dynamic, shape-shifting brother and sister duo Ben and Becky Brightly. Players venture through the Brightly household playing educational mini-games to collect different colored "Smart Stars" (explained below) to use to collect "Super Stars". The game was released in 1997 along with Big Thinkers! Kindergarten. A third game, Big Thinkers! Second Grade, was conceptualized, but was never brought to fruition due to the project being too big to do three games at once.

Gameplay

The player has a choice of collecting five different colored Smart Stars in different areas of the Brightly home, including: the living room (including the mailbox), the study, the playroom, the garage, the backyard (which includes the barn and pond), and the kitchen. There are five different colored smart stars which represent a different area of education:
Red: English
Green: Critical Thinking
Yellow: Art
Purple: Sciences
Blue: Math
Players' smart smart stars are kept in their "Brain Banks". Brain Banks come in a variety of different styles including a walrus, panda, Freddi Fish, and a monkey. Super Stars are also stored in the Brain Banks. Once a smart star is earned, a certificate is placed on the right wall in the living room, with new levels being achieved with the more smart stars earned.
