Benjamin Lazar Davis
Benjamin Lazar Davis is an New York-born American multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, arranger, composer and producer. He is a member of the band Okkervil River.[1]
He also co-wrote, recorded, co-produced and toured for the album Let It Be You[2] (Reveal Records 2016) with Joan As Police Woman.[3]
In 2014 Davis travelled to Ghana with Bridget Kearney, with whom he'd previously worked in the band Cuddle Magic. They spent three weeks in the capital Accra, studying the traditional music of Northwest Ghana with master gyil player Aaron Bebe. They subsequently co-released an EP, BAWA, incorporating gyil music as source material.[4]
