Behrooz Astaneh

Behrooz Astaneh was born in Shiraz, Iran in 1964 and graduated in medicine from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.[1] He then continued his studies on medical Journalism in university of Westminster in London, UK. He is the founder of the first academic Master of Science course on medical journalism in Middle East. He is the pioneer of designing specific academic training courses for medical editors. He has also focused on disseminating the essentials of publication ethics among regional editors and is the first Iranian Council member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). His reputation is also because of presenting more than 500 workshops on various aspects of editorship and publication ethics in national and international level. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Iranian Journal of Medical Sciences, vice president of EMAME, and the vice president of the Iranian Society of Medical Editors.[1]
