Bea Vianen
Beatrice Sylvia Vianen (born 6 November 1935 in Paramaribo) is a Surinamese writer who goes by the name Bea Vianen.[1] She is a mix of African and Indian ancestry and spent time in the Netherlands starting in 1957. She writes mainly in Dutch, but occasionally in Sranan Tongo. Her first novel was Sarnami, Hai or "Surinam I am" in 1969. She is an admirer of V. S. Naipaul.[2]
