Balvan Point

Location of Nordenskjöld Coast on Antarctic Peninsula.

Balvan Point (Bulgarian: нос Балван, ‘Nos Balvan’ \'nos bal-'van\) is the rocky point on the south side of the entrance to Solari Bay on Nordenskjöld Coast in Graham Land. It was formed as a result of the break-up of Larsen Ice Shelf in the area in the late 20th century. The feature is named after the settlement of Balvan in Northern Bulgaria.

Balvan Point is located at 64°47′13″S 60°41′46″W / 64.78694°S 60.69611°W / -64.78694; -60.69611Coordinates: 64°47′13″S 60°41′46″W / 64.78694°S 60.69611°W / -64.78694; -60.69611, which is 4.35 km north of Pedersen Nunatak, 33.7 km northeast of Cape Fairweather, 2.7 km southeast of Sentinel Nunatak, and 10.27 km south-southwest of Richard Knoll.
