Baldomero Lamela (1838-1901) was an Argentine army officer, he served in command of Julio Argentino Roca in the military expeditions in southern Argentina.[1] He also participates in the War of the Triple Alliance.[2]

Biography

His father was Baldomero Lamela, a Colonel who had fought in the federal troops led by Juan Manuel de Rosas. His mother Saturnina Luengo, was the daughter of Cirilo Luengo, a soldier who had participated in the war of independence.[3] Baldomero Lamela was married Elvira Canavery, (b.1850) born in Carmen de Areco, daughter of Joaquín Canavery (municipal official of the town).

In 1860 fought in the ranks Argentine Confederation led by Justo José de Urquiza, taking part in the Battle of Pavón.[4]

Baldomero Lamela retired from the army in 1899 after serving for 44 years.[5]
