Angels vs Bullies is a 2015 British satirical romantic family musical coming-of-age fantasy/horror comedy-crime drama/thriller film written and directed by Christopher Turner. This is his first feature film, and début cinematic release, being tested in two cinemas in south Essex during 2014.
The film focuses on a delinquent youth who breaks into his failing secondary school to spray graffiti of angels, only to discover that he is being haunted by the ghosts of students who have killed themselves due to bullying, and makes it his mission to save a girl at the school from meeting the same fate, who coincidentally also becomes his love interest.
The film was funded by Essex Community Foundation under the Fair Share Lottery Programme, in association with The Arts Council, The Big Lottery, Essex County Council and Basildon Council, due in part to its anti-bullying themes. It also drew much of its cast from the south Essex area in which it was filmed and set.
