Amrita Express (Malayalam : അമൃതാ എക്സ്പ്രസ്സ്) is an overnight express train operated by the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways between Trivandrum Central railway station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and Palakkad Town railway station in Palakkad, Kerala. It was introduced in January 2001 by the then Railway Minister O. Rajagopal. This train is named after Mata Amritanandamayi, the well known spiritual leader.
Train number 16343 runs from south to north, departing Trivandrum Central at 22:30 (10:30 p.m.) and reaching Palghat Town at 08:00 (8:00 a.m.). On the return journey, train number 16344 starts at 21:45 (09:45 p.m.) from Palghat Town and reaches Trivandrum Central railway station at 06:10 (6:10 a.m.).
The train has general Second Class sitting coaches, second class three-tier sleeper coaches, and an air-conditioned two-tier sleeper coach.

A new Express train ( Rajya Rani Express) which was announced in the 2011-12 Rail budget connecting Nilambur and the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram. It started running on 16 November 2011. Nilambur Road–Thiruvananthapuram Central rajyarani express is link with Amritha. 8 coaches to be merged with Amritha Express at Shoranur Junction.
