Alice Vrielink
Alice Vrielink is a structural biologist who is Head of Discipline in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Western Australia. She conducts research in the crystallography.[1] As of 2016, she is Vice President of the Society of Crystallographers of Australia and New Zealand.[2]
Education
Vrielink earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Masters of Science in Physical Chemistry at the University of Calgary in Canada.[2] She received a PhD in Physics and a Diploma in Crystallography in University of London and Imperial College of Science and Technology, respectively.
Career
Vrielink became an Assistant and Associate Professor at McGill University in Canada from 1994 to 2001.[2] In 2003 Vrielink worked in biochemical research at the State University of New York-Stony Brook.[3] She served as a Research Professor at the University of California and then joined the faculty at UWA as Professor of Structural Biology in 2007.[2]
Vrielink was a member of the 2014 National Committee on Crystallography[4] She has been a member of the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the British Crystallographic Association, the Asian Crystallographic Society, and the American Crystallographic Association. She has authored and co-authored many articles on various topics in biochemistry and crystallography.[5]
