Alex Howes (born January 1, 1988) is an American professional road racing cyclist who rides for UCI ProTeam Cannondale–Drapac.[2][3] Howes turned professional, on a full-time basis, in 2012.[3]
Personal life
Howes was born on January 1, 1988, in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Golden, Colorado, United States.[4][5] He resides in Boulder, Colorado,[6][7] and Girona, Catalonia, Spain.[8][9] Howes attended the University of Colorado, Boulder.[10][11]
Career
Howes rode with Slipstream–Chipotle, a UCI ProConTeam,[12][13] and Vélo-Club La Pomme Marseille, an amateur team, in 2007.[14][15]
Howes signed with Garmin–Barracuda, a UCI ProTeam, for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.[16][17] He remained with the team for the 2014 season.[18][19] Howes won stage seven of the 2014 USA Pro Cycling Challenge; his first professional victory.[20][21]
Howes re-signed with Cannondale–Garmin for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons.[22][23]
