Affion Crockett (born August 12, 1974) is an American actor, writer, dancer, rapper, comedian and music producer. He has appeared in many films and television shows, and had his own TV sketch comedy show, the short-lived 2011 series In the Flow with Affion Crockett.
Early life
Crockett was raised in France and Fayetteville, North Carolina.[1] One of Crockett's grandfathers was Chinese Trinidadian.
At age 10, he began entering and winning breaking and popping contests with his older brother. Later on, he honed his impression skills by imitating anyone from his mother's West Indian dialect or his schoolteacher's southern drawl to the Scarface's choppy Cuban accent.
He attended Fayetteville State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business.
Career
Crockett appeared in HBO's Def Comedy Jam in 1996, demonstrating his impressions and physical comedy.[2] He has also been on CSI: NY, NYPD Blue and The District.[2] He appeared on MTV's Short Circuitz with Nick Cannon.[3] He was a cast member of the game show Wild 'n Out, which also starred Nick Cannon.[3] He has appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm as "Car Customer #2" and Cedric the Entertainer's Show.[4] Crockett also co-starred in the films, Dance Flick with the Wayans Brothers, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins with Martin Lawrence, and Soul Men with Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac.[4]
Crockett starred in and produced his own sketch comedy show for Fox called In the Flow with Affion Crockett which was executive produced by Jamie Foxx.[5][5] The show was cancelled due to low ratings.[5] On November 6, 2012, he released his debut comedy album, Watch the Clone.[6]
