On December 1, 2016, Kehlani premiered "Advice" on Apple Music. The song is described as a pop-leaning R&B ballad that finds Kehlani pleading with herself to take her own advice. "I was just out of a really bad relationship with someone who I really thought who was going to be the one person for me and ended up showing me so many times that he wasn't," Kehlani said, opening up to Zane about the making of the song. "It was really like, a healing thing rather than us just making a song".[1]
