APEKSI
APEKSI, the Asosiasi Pemerintah Kota Seluruh Indonesia, is the Association of the Indonesia Municipalities. Established on 25 May 2000, its existence is based upon the Indonesian laws about political and administrative decentralization (Law 22/1999). Ministry of Home Affairs and Regional Autonomy issued Decree No. 16 Year 2000 regarding Guidelines for the Establishment of the Local Government Association and Local Government Association Election of Representatives as a member Regional Autonomy Advisory Council. The decision of Home Affairs and Regional Autonomy No. 16, 2000 have been prepared to develop the Association of Municipalities, the Association of Local Government and Provincial Government Association truly independent and will be represented in Regional Autonomy Advisory Council.

APEKSI is a forum consisting of 98 cities in urban area aiming at assisting its members in implementing regional autonomy and creating a climate conducive to the establishment of cooperation among regional administrations.
