9915 Potanin is a C-type main belt asteroid. It orbits the Sun once every 5.05 years.[1]
Discovered on September 8, 1977 by Nikolai Chernykh, it was given the provisional designation "1977 RD2". It was later renamed "Potanin" after Grigorij Potanin, a Russian explorer of Siberia.[4]
