72 Ophiuchi (72 Oph) is a class A5 main sequence star in the constellation Ophiuchus. Its apparent magnitude is 3.73[2] and it is approximately 86.9 light years away based on parallax.[1]
72 Ophiuchi is a multiple star system with several components; the primary has been reported as a spectroscopic binary, and there are also components B, with magnitude 13.9 and separation 25", C, with magnitude 11.5 and separation 64" (possibly optical),[9] and D, with magnitude 14.8 and separation 24".[10]
