The 2017 Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C. season is the 44th season in club history and 5th season in the Malaysia Super League after rebranding their name from Johor FC.

Background information
Johor Darul Ta'zim FC won their 2016 Malaysia Super League which become the first Malaysian club winning the league title for third consecutive years and also created "The Invicibles" unbeaten record history in 22 league action. JDT also holding unbeaten home ground record up to 46 matches from 3 July 2012 (won against Sabah FA by 2-1) until 24 September 2016 which last they won against T-Team F.C. by 5-1). On 13 February 2016, JDT defending their 2016 Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup title after defeated 33 times Malaysia Cup winner Selangor FA by penalty shoot-out 7-6 after ended 1-1 in 120 minutes played. On 14 May 2016, JDT grabbed 2016 Malaysia FA Cup for the first time after win against promoted club PKNS FC by 2-1 at Shah Alam Stadium. Unfortunately, JDT failed to defence their AFC Cup after lost to India club Bengaluru FC on 19 October 2016 by aggregat 4-2.
