The 1998 Arab Nations Cup is the seventh edition of the Arab Nations Cup hosted by Qatar, in Doha. Saudi Arabia won their first title.
Qualifying

- Qatar qualified as hosts.
- Egypt qualified as holders.
- Saudi Arabia and Morocco qualified as World Cup qualifiers.
- The Qualifying Stage is divided into 4 Groups based on the Geography regions, the groups are: The Levant, The Gulf, The Red sea and The North Africa group, Top teams qualify to the 1998 Arab Nations Cup.
- The qualified teams from the Qualifying Stage are:
- Kuwait and United Arab Emirates qualified from the Gulf group
- Algeria and Libya qualified from the North Africa group
- Sudan qualified from the Red Sea group
- Jordan, Syria and Lebanon qualified from the Levant group

Algeria, Egypt and Morocco did not send their senior national teams but instead sent their Under-23 teams to the competition.[1]
