The 1919 Southwest Texas State Normal School football team represented Southwest Texas State Normal School in the 1919 college football season. This was the eighth year for Texas State football. Better known for his basketball influences, O.W. Strahan became the teams' first head football coach since the program's inception and lead the team to a 4-4 record in 1919. In a career spanning three decades, Strahan’s teams would post a 70-53-9 record. Among the opponents in 1919 was Sam Houston State. Although this was the first meeting of the two teams, they have played each other 89 times as of 2016.
